Emulaton Technology debuts Sparta™ Cables to support Agilent logic analyzers

SANTA CLARA, Calif, October 19, 2004 —Emulation Technology (ET), debuted today their new high-speed, Sparta™ cables with Samtec® .5mm micro socket connectors. Sparta cables provide system designers and test engineers with easy access and probing capability in high-speed electronic designs. Sparta cables directly support users connecting to Agilent's Logic Analyzer Test Connector (Samtec ASP-65067-01), and are available in male-to-male, male-to-female and female-to-female configurations in lengths of 6 or 18 inches.

HIGH SPEED

Changes in logic analyzers, the standardization of high-speed designs, and increased circuit complexity have prompted designers' increased use of the Samtec connector for monitoring high-speed signals during the design and debug stage of their electronic designs. Using ET's Sparta™ cables reduces capacitive loading and improves isolation between adjacent channels when used with a logic analyzer or oscilloscope. The cables are available in single ended or differential pair routings. Sparta cables with the 100-pin connector support Agilent logic analyzer probes when the Samtec ASP-65067-01 connector is attached to board:

PLUG AND MONITOR

Designers who have integrated Samtec connectors into their design can simply plug one end of the cable into the PCB with the appropriate mate to the connector. The other end of the cable can be connected to a logic analyzer, oscilloscope or other test measurement instrument.
